Rafi Bastos

Rafi Bastos is a 6’7” tall Jewish-Brazilian comedian with an accent like Dracula and a rapidly growing social
media presence of stand up clips in English. Many of Rafi’s super-viral stand up clips come from nightly
performances at the prestigious Comedy Cellar. In his home-country of Brazil, Rafi is a trailblazer of comedy,
media and is one of the first comedians to pioneer the art of American-style stand up comedy in Brazil.

Brazilian comedy powerhouse Rafi Bastos brings his new show to Comedy Club Haug in Rotterdam the only show in the Netherlands.

Rafi’s 17-year comedy and acting career, before coming to the United States, garnered many firsts and was featured in an interview on The Joe Rogan Experience. After setting multiple records, he opened a stand-up comedy club and sparked national controversy by challenging Brazil’s restrictive laws around freedom of speech.

His videos, spanning stand-up, music, interviews and sketches, have amassed over 370 million views on YouTube alone. In 2011, The New York Times named him the “Most Influential Man on Twitter” (then 7 million followers, now over 11 million). In 2013, he won the Shorty Award for Best Comedian, often dubbed the “Oscars of Social Media.”

Performing in both English and Portuguese, Rafi has established himself as one of Latin America’s most influential comedic voices. His sharp, fast-paced observational style has taken him to some of the world’s most iconic comedy venues, including Comedy Cellar, Laugh Factory, and Hollywood Improv. He is also the first Brazilian comedian to headline Just for Laughs, the world’s largest comedy festival.

Rafi has released three Netflix specials, A Arte do Insulto, Péssima Influência, and Ultimato, and has built a diverse career as an actor, talk show host, field reporter, and reality TV presenter (including Ultimate Beastmaster for Netflix). He is also the co-founder of Comedians, the largest comedy club in South America.
