About Teun van den Elzen
Teun van den Elzen van den Elzen (Zeeland, North Brabant, 1993) is a cabaret artist, columnist for Spijkers met Koppen and comedian at Comedy Club Haug in Rotterdam.
After many detours, a degree in political science and a failed career as a filmmaker, he took the stage at his first open mic at the age of twenty-four. Through the smallest pubs and darkest dives, he worked his way up to become one of the most idiosyncratic comedians in Dutch theatres.
In 2019 he won the Groninger Studenten Cabaret Festival. He wrote for Dit Was Het Nieuws for years and has performed at Lowlands, Paaspop and Zwarte Cross.
Theatre
His debut show Meer Kan Ik Er Niet Over Zeggen (2023) was enthusiastically received by press and audiences alike (★★★★ de Volkskrant).
With his second show Op positie (2025), he won the Neerlands Hoop: the prize for the most promising theatre maker in Dutch cabaret. He toured the Netherlands with this show (★★★★★ Scènes) until June 2026.
