Daan van der Hoeven is a regular at Comedy Club Haug in Rotterdam, where he performs in Dutch.

About Daan van der Hoeven

Daan van der Hoeven (26-05-1988) is known as a stand-up comedian for his unrivalled improvisation and razor-sharp interaction with the audience. When Daan comes to play, he really comes to play. His crowd work is second to none and widely praised by audiences.

Daan regularly performs at festivals such as Lowlands, Paaspop, Concert at Sea and Oerol. He has also appeared at the International Comedy Festival Rotterdam and the Utrecht International Comedy Festival.

Behind the scenes

Behind the scenes, Daan is no stranger either. He has worked on popular TV shows such as Draadstaal and Dit Was Het Nieuws, and currently works on De Avondshow met Arjen Lubach.

He is also often found in the theatre and has won several awards, including the Groninger Studenten Cabaret Festival. The jury said:

“Daan’s show is tightly constructed, with a good balance of strong jokes, cheeky characters, interesting self-reflection and a healthy dose of self-mockery. He dares to make himself vulnerable, and that, combined with his Leiden accent, makes him an engaging personality. His timing is good and he knows how to work the room. He has a high joke density and his show has a lovely rhythm.”

On his tour Mensenmens, Daan brought fellow Haug regular Finn Visser along as his opening act.
